Summer Reading 2024
This summer, Adventure begins at Jay C. Byers Library!
Join us on Tuesday, May 21st from 11:00 – 2:00 in the Community Center for our Summer Reading Kick-Off. We’ll have crafts, games, and snacks available. Don’t forget to pick up your reading log so you can start earning prizes!
The Summer Reading event runs from May 21st – June 29th. Schedule coming soon of activities for all ages.

April 2: Solar Eclipse Activity from 4:00 – 5:00 pm
April 3 & 17: Read to Some Bunny from 4:00 – 5:00 pm
April 4, 11, 18, 25: Preschool Storytime at 10:30 am
April 4: Friends of the Library Meeting at 5:30 pm
April 8: Solar Eclipse Party at 12:30 – 3:00 pm
April 8: Library Board Meeting at 4:00 pm
April 10 & 24: LEGO Club from 3:30 – 5:00 pm
April 17: Pawnee Country Health Department Community Worker from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

BOOktacular at Hanson Park!
Come enjoy our latest Story Walk at Hanson Park. Tuesday, October 4th from 6:30 – 8:30. It’ll be creepy and fun! We’ll also have Trunk or Treat with our city vehicles.
Family Movie Night
A young clownfish is captured by divers when he strays too far from home. His father sets out on a journey to rescue him and makes friends along the way.
Come join us Thursday, June 16th in the library parking lot! Bring your family & friends, lawn chairs, blankets and bug spray as we watch Finding Nemo. Concessions will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own snacks as well. The movie will start at dark. Rain date will be Thursday, June 23rd.

Carpool Cinema at the Library!
We are excited to announce our first ever carpool cinema! We will be showing Hocus Pocus in the field behind the Old School Gym on Friday, October 30th. You can tune into the movie while staying in your car or if you’d like to sit outside, bring blankets & chairs. Just remember, we will be practicing social distancing.
Cub scouts will be offering concessions, but you are welcome to bring your own snacks. The fun begins at 6:30!
December News
It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas here at the library! We’re putting up our decorations and getting ready for a visit from you-know-who. We even put up a few extra trees.
- Crafting & Coffee – Monday mornings at 10:30.
- Preschool Storytime – Thursday mornings at 10:30.
- Adult Education Classes – Saturday from 9:30 – 12:00 or 12:30 – 3:00.
- LEGO Club – Wednesday, December 4th & 18th from 4:00 – 5:30.
- Night Before Christmas Storytime – Thursday, December, 19th starting at 6:30
The library will be closed for Christmas on Tuesday, the 24th and Wednesday, the 25th. We will close early on New Year’s Eve at 4:00.
Reminder: If Cleveland Public Schools are closed for bad weather, the library will also be closed.
